The Power of Moissanite
Many people have heard the rule that says an engagement ring should cost as much as three months pay. Depending on how much is earned in those three months, the ring purchased with that amount that could either beautiful or non-existant.
Also, diamonds, which are the most common stone used in engagement rings, have a not-so-good history tied to them. Therefore, in our opinion, we believe it might be best to choose something different than diamonds. At Doveggs – Seattle, you’ll find Moissanite, which is less expensive, shinier, prettier, and less guilt inducing than diamonds.
What Is It?
More than a century ago, Dr. Moissan found a mineral that was hiding in an Arizona meteorite. There was not enough of it available in that meteorite for mass production or distribution, and therefore Dr. Moissan spent his life trying to recreate it. Luckily, those in his lab were successful in recreating it, and named it after him as an honor.
Moissanite is made of silicon carbide, which is formed as one crystal. Master cutters then cut these lab-created stones. You'll immediately see how similar they are to diamonds. However, Moissanite has more brilliance, luster, and fire than a diamond.
